Leading Students to Trust and Obey Jesus

At Harvest, the main objectives of our student ministry are to partner with parents, mentor our students and provide the answers to the “why’s” of the Christian faith in a way that students in 6th-12th grade can understand. Our desire is to see them come to know Jesus and to make Him known to others.

Community

The Student Lounge is designed to encourage and challenge our students to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus and to build godly friendships with other students. People are social beings. Students have a desire and need to be part of a community. We aim to fill their need for community while at the same time point them to the gospel.

We also like to have fun and hang out with our students. From doing activities together outside the church or just chatting, community is important.

Purpose and Growth

Students need to recognize the mission and purpose God has for them. To know how to share the good news of Jesus Christ with friends and family, which contributes to their overall spiritual development. We encourage our students to bring friends who do not know the Gospel. To have a heart for the lost and least of these. Our aim is to help them grow through prayer, Bible study, small group discussion, and service opportunities. Teaching them how they can live to know and honor God right now as teenagers is very important to us at Harvest.

Vulnerability

If we are honest, we all need a safe place to be vulnerable. Don’t we long for the chance to be ourselves? To be loved and accepted as we are? Don’t we all want to be enough? Few places like that exist in this world, but we make it a point to be a place where students can ask honest questions, share genuine struggles, and deal with real problems. We want to help our students become mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Note: Harvest Students is closed the 4th Sunday of each month, as well as when there is a 5th Sunday for Family Worship. This gives our ministry volunteers a break and an opportunity to participate in our worship service. It also allows our kids to be with their parents as they worship Jesus together.
