Dr. Ed Johnson III is the planting Lead Pastor of Harvest Fellowship Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Austin, TX. He came to trust Jesus as Savior and Lord as a child and accepted the call to preach at the age of 17. In those early years of ministry, he served in various capacities both in the church and in the community; from Children and Youth minister to After-school Program Site Director at an Alternative School to Religious Education Director at the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, TX.
After graduating from college, he went on to serve for over a decade as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX under the leadership of his late pastor and mentor, Dr. Karry D. Wesley.
Ed is known for his passion for faithfully preaching and teaching God’s Word at churches, conferences, and retreats. He is an author, having written and published two books to date. Ed earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University, a Master of Divinity degree in Theology from George W. Truett Theological Seminary (Baylor University), and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Church Health, Leadership, and Multiplication from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Ed and his wife, Tiffany, reside in Dallas, TX and are the parents of two daughters, Desirae and Gabrielle, and proud owners of Maximus, “The Minimal” dog.
